More often than not winds will blow hardest from the northwest during Winter.
It might be cold, but who cares? As long as the
sun is out and the lake water is warm,
temperatures down to 35 degrees are sailable.
Ramsey Creek Access is a much more pleasant
launch site in the sense that the rigging area
is grassy and there are fewer submerged rocks. Blythe Landing is an area
where there is a lot of construction going on.
Blythe Landing is located on Brown's Cove. To get there, take exit #25 off of I-77. Go West
1.5 miles. Past the stop light you will see an earthen dam. The entrance is directly in front
of the dike on your right.
There is suppose to be admission charged to enter this park, but we haven't seen this happen
yet. Perhaps when the park is finally completed there will be a charge.
The park has a gate
and the hours seem to be until dark. Be sure to check with the park
ranger.
