Maui 2007

Not much wind during our stay the first week of March. After our week, we learned that the trades seldom pick up till after April.

Jen's looking westward down Hookipa. If you look closely you'll see the surfers.

Jen got this picture of me on top of Haleakala Volcano. Below me you can see Kahalui, and the area between Paia and Kahalui.

On the road to Hana there are so many twists and turns that you forget to look for waterfalls. We found this view after a random stop along the road.

Here's Jen in the Iao Valley west of Kahalui

There's an observatory on top of Haleakala, but it doesn't seem to be open to the public. The view in the morning makes the trip worth it though. Haleakala is a little over 10,000 feet high. Quite dramatic since sea level is at the base of the mountain.

This is the house we rented. It's about a mile and a half away from Paia and over looks the bay just outside Kuau.

This was the view outside the house. Nice, huh?
